Hogwarts Legacy offers countless ways to customize your Harry Potter experience.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today revealed a ton of gameplay for its upcoming Harry Potter game, Hogwarts Legacy.
We’ll start off by taking a look at the brooms you can use to fly around in the open world. You can buy and even upgrade different types of brooms. Interestingly, there is a meter that only depletes when you fly high above the ground. By adjusting the broom you can increase the distance at which the gauge starts to deplete.
In the open world you will find hamlets that include both story content and gameplay. For example, you can find opportunities to unlock inventory upgrades, upgrade your ancient magic, or earn rare resources.
We also see the Onyx Hippogriff, a mount granted with pre-orders of the game. At some point in the story, the open world will open up for you, and you can go anywhere from that point, although some locations may contain more difficult challenges.
The seasons change as the main story progresses, and this is even reflected within the school. For example, Hogwarts is decorated for different holidays.
We take a look at combat in the Dark Arts Battle Arena included in the Deluxe Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition. It’s worth noting that Arena is simply a preview of the Dark Arts, as they can also be earned in the base game.
You can take potions and plans you grow in the Room of Requirement into battle, giving you advantages and helping you in battle. There are also Dueling Feats that encourage you to explore different playstyles.
Lastly, we see the Room of Requirement, which is basically our home at Hogwarts. We can customize it extensively and even change the architecture. You can buy furniture or even earn them as rewards throughout the game.
As mentioned above, you can grow crops and brew potions. You can identify and enchant gear to customize its properties. You can also transmogrify it to give a specific look to outfits with a different appearance.
Enchanting gear ingredients come from beasts that you can save in the open world. You can raise them, name them, feed them and even pet them, and you can also customize their room, including tools and even a toy box to play with your beasts.
You can check it out below alongside the previous video in the series, which shows more of Hogwarts itself.
Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10th, 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, April 4th, 2023 on PS4 and Xbox One, while fans of the Wizarding World on Nintendo Switch will get the game last and will have until July 25th 2023 wait.
