Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is getting a short but hyped trailer

News

Everyone loves a comeback.

It’s been a long time coming, but the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi franchise is back with a brand new entry.

In a trailer shown during the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals stream on March 5, it was revealed that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is currently in development. Further details about the title, such as the release date and the consoles it will be available on, have not been finalized at the time of writing this article.

The trailer itself was also sparse with details about the game. It was compiled footage from previous Budokai Tenkaichi games, beginning with clips from the first Budokai Tenkaichi before moving on to footage from the second and third games. All of the footage is shown through a digital version of an old-fashioned television that the games would have been played on when they were originally released.

The footage continues until it reaches a clip of Goku turning on so he can transform into a Super Saiyan. As he does so, the screen goes black and returns with new footage of a high fidelity Goku transforming into his Super Saiyan Blue form. The text “Get Ready for Battle” flashes across the screen before Goku cracks his knockles, and “A New Budokai Tenkaichi Begins” concludes the teaser.

It’s definitely not the most detailed teaser ever, but it conveys the message of the series’ return well enough. Those interested can check out the teaser via the FighterZ World Tour Finals Stream Archive, and we’ll add the official trailer below once we’re able to.
