Dallas Mavericks No. 77 Luka Doncic In Review

The Chicago Bulls roster officially stands at a strong 15 after signing veteran point guard Goran Dragic, according to Jordan Schultz of ESPN. A one-time All-NBA pick, Dragic brings 14 years of experience to a position that lacks a playmaker behind Lonzo Ball.

Ball has been slow to recover from a bone bruise following meniscus tear surgery in March.

Dragic’s appearance could also signal that Coby White’s time in Chicago is coming to an end.

The immediate result was a mass of fans on Twitter that showed aversion to the Bulls, and center Nikola Vucevic in particular, seemingly more influential than Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

“Nikola Recruitevic”

NBC Sports Chicago’s KC Johnson confirmed Schultz reports while adding that Vucevic played a big role in recruiting Slovenian-born Dragic. It is also Doncic’s hometown with the two sharing the same stage for the national team.

Doncic even led the song “MVP” for Dragic to celebrate the team’s final game after a 97-69 win over Croatia on June 30.

Instead, Doncic will see his countryman join Vucevic in Chicago.

The Bulls big man took to Twitter to celebrate his success sharing a gif playing his new teammate’s nickname, “The Dragon”, with a scene from the show “Game of Thrones”.

One fan, who gave the new All-Star star a new nickname twice, Nikola “Recruitevic”due to his job landing Dragic after playing a key role in landing DeMar DeRozan in the final season.

Other fans let Doncic and Mavs have it.

Doncic lost, hear about it

Dallas just lost points defending Jalen Brunson against the New York Knicks without ever getting a formal meeting this season. Their strained relationship after not agreeing to an extension played a part in Brunson’s swift departure.

They returned Spencer Dinwiddie after a fairly productive tenure after being acquired at the transaction deadline.

But they have little depth with an increasingly depleted pool of reliable options.

The whole situation generated some hilarious dialogue from NBA fans who were never shy on Twitter.

Others began to question Doncic’s sway in the Mavs organization for losing a long-rumored target to an unexpected suitor.

Others were still quick to blame Mavs for not being able to complete what one user called another Mavs “L”.

There was hope this was the last time they had to hear about this merger that may never have come to fruition.

Bulls Land is a Playmaker but…

There are still a number of questions that need to be answered regarding this signing. What does it mean for Ball’s health and White’s place on the list? Bulls still have other needs. Most notable is the ability to protect borders and three-point shooting.

Dragic, who Johnson reportedly entered into a $2.9 million deal, does nothing to protect or secure the rims as a 36-year-old, 6-foot-3 guard. .

He’s been a career three-point shooter 36.4% of his career.

But he shot just 27.4 percent from downtown last season, split between the Toronto Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets. He’s averaging 7.5 points, 4.1 assists and 3.1 rebounds for the year and joins Andre Drummond in what the Bulls hope is an improved bench unit.

This is also a surprising contract after looks like they will finish in the free agent to maintain some of their average level exceptions.
