Goodbye boosters.

There’s no question that Destiny 2 can be a challenging and time-consuming game. From countless hours spent grinding Lost Sectors for a piece of exotic armor to dungeon farming for a god-rolled weapon, it really can be a tedious process. Because of this, some players may feel like they need a little help getting through a piece of content – or finding the perfect weapon. Unfortunately, these players often turn to boosters to play for them. However, it was recently revealed in a Tweet from the Destiny 2 team Bungie knocking down the ban hammer on Destiny 2 boosters.
As per the tweet’s comments, a number of players who have been banned claim that they were banned in error and didn’t share an account. Whether this is true or not remains unknown; One thing is for sure, though – Bungie is cracking down on account sharing – just ahead of the new raid coming out.
As a word of caution for Wardens – there are ways to get help for difficult content without using a booster. Destiny 2 has a party search tool, and there are Sherpas to help new players and guide them through raids.
Boosters have always been a problem in games like Destiny 2. By providing their account recovery services, boosters can help clear difficult content or farm items. However, players should know that this is clearly against Bungie’s Terms of Service – and any player who participated in the account release may be banned for doing so.
While it’s not known exactly how many accounts have been banned or how many more will follow, players should keep their passwords to themselves and play their own accounts. Those who decide against this rule can look forward to being hit with Bungie’s ban hammer.
