Byron Baes star Nathan Favro pleads guilty to driving offences

Byron Baes star Nathan Favro appeared at Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday on a number of traffic offences.

The 27-year-old reality star pleaded guilty to one illegal driving charge after he was caught doing an illegal U-turn at an intersection while holding a driver’s license.

He was pulled over on Oct. 9 while turning at the intersection of Gold Coast Highway and Fourth Ave in Palm Beach and has since been fined without conviction.

Police officers conducted further checks after the Bachelorette star said he did not have his driver’s license with him and discovered he was on two minus suspensions at the time of the offence.

One of the suspensions lasted until February next year.

Favro’s defense attorney told the judge his client was unaware of the suspension because he did not have his correct address with the Department of Main Roads.

She went on to say that Favro was now forced to spend hundreds of dollars a week on Ubers to travel to work and if he had known about the suspension he would have applied for a work permit.

“Having made his first court appearances and facing a lengthy ban, he now realizes it’s a privilege to have a license,” she said.

However, no conviction was recorded and the judge fined him $100 for the offense and suspended his driver’s license for six months.

When reporters asked him in court if he thought driving with a suspended license was a good decision, Favro said he had to “get to work”.
