Campbell says the 21-year-old will be ‘like a new signing’ for Arsenal

While Arsenal are flying at the moment, Campbell believes the Gunners still have plenty to add to their squad and is calling for several midfielders and several attackers to be added over the summer.

Meanwhile, Campbell seemed much happier with the defensive situation, claiming the returning William Saliba will be like a signing for the Gunners.

“Actually, we need two or three midfielders, not counting the other positions. We need two strikers, one more striker and Saliba is coming back and he’ll be like a new signing and maybe we need another defender or two. We need two players for every seat because when we rotate we’re not nearly as strong.”

Campbell says Saliba will be like a new signing for Arsenal and he’s not wrong.

The France centre-back has been fantastic in Ligue 1 this season and has even been called up for France.

Now you normally pay over £30m to sign a 21-year-old defender joining the France squad, but luckily for Arsenal, Saliba is already a gunner.

Whether or not he can challenge Ben White or Gabriel for a starting spot remains to be seen, but he will certainly be a solid depth option should Arsenal keep him.
