Can you increase the FPS cap in cutscenes in Like a Dragon Ishin?

The short answer is no, you cannot increase the FPS cap in Like a Dragon: Ishin! Cutscenes on PC same as previous Yakuza, Judgment and Like a Dragon games. Unfortunately, the cutscenes are all capped at 30 FPS, making enjoying the game on PC quite a chore. While it’s incredibly possible to hit 120 FPS when playing indoors or starting a fight, cutscenes will stutter and suffer from performance issues.

Previous games were developed using Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Dragon engine, which gave the series its rugged and detailed look. Like a Dragon: Ishin! however, is the first game to use the Unreal Engine 4 instead. While switching to this engine brings many new benefits, including physically-based rendering, screen reflections, and new lighting, the cutscene cap just seems a little out of place.

Will there be a fix for the FPS cap in cutscenes in Yakuza Like a Dragon Ishin?

While there was no announcement of any game update that would bring 60 FPS to all cutscenes, this type of update for Lost Judgment was released shortly after the game’s release. Various trailers for the game have also shown the cutscenes in 60 FPS, which could very well hint at a future update.
