When Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin took the stage at a fan convention 90s con in Hartford, Connecticut on March 17, 2023, it was her first public interaction since her much-hyped dust cloud in fall 2022 that prompted Bure to unfollow her former “Full House” co-star on Instagram. After Bure left Hallmark Channel to help its former CEO Bill Abbott build the Great American Family network, she commented a November story from the Wall Street Journal across the channel sparked a firestorm of controversy and a feud between the two longtime friends.

In the article, titled “Candace Cameron Bure Wants to Bring Christianity Back into Christmas Movies,” Bure was asked if the Great American Family movies would feature same-sex relationships, as Hallmark Channel, where Sweetin still appears in movies, started them to include in some of his storylines. The outlet reported that Bure, 46, said no and that she expected her network, for which she is chief creative officer, “to keep the traditional marriage at its core.”

A longtime advocate for LGTBQ+ rights, Sweetin made it clear online where she stood by supporting and sharing comments from others who were offended by the comment, including entertainer JoJo Siwa, who is openly gay. Sweetin also posted several resources in support of LGBTQ+ rights on her Instagram stories and, according to Us Weeklyshared a post reposted by Hallmark colleague Holly Robinson Peete about why the term “traditional marriage” is problematic for many.

Amid the controversy, Bure unfollowed Sweetin on Instagram, signaling a very real rift between the longtime friends. Just three months ago, Bure happily attended Sweetin’s wedding telling the actress via Instagram how much she loves her. Although Sweetin said in a February podcast that the entire “Full House” cast still loves each other “no matter what,” fans were curious to see how she and Bure’s first public interaction would go.

Although the two were polite to each other, fans noted that they weren’t exactly chummy. There was no discussion of her outfit during her performance, and none of the “Full House” attendees, which also included Andrea Barber and Dave Coulier, walked the red carpet for press interviews. ‘Full House’ Cast Skips Red Carpet & Audience Questions

In addition to Bure and Sweetin’s performance at the ’90s Con, the Full House reunion panel included their former co-stars Andrea Barber and Dave Coulier. The entire cast, who also starred in a Netflix reboot called Fuller House from 2016-2020, have frequently spoken to the media about how close they are, especially afterward the sudden death by Full House patriarch Bob Saget.

But the online rift between Bure and Sweetin left many wondering if their interactions at 90s Con, a convention dedicated to ’90s music, film and television stars, would be awkward. Bure on March 16th posted an Instagram Live video of her with Barber and Coulier riding in a car after their flight to Connecticut.

In the video, Barber said “Jodie is on her way” and Bure then added that they planned to pick her up. Coulier said they’d go out to eat afterwards and joked that he was on an all-bean diet. The exchange prompted several fans to ask in the comments section if Bure and Sweetin had reconciled, but none of the stars responded.

Heavy was on hand for red carpet interviews at the 90s Con, but none of the four “Full House” showed up for press interviews on March 17. Heavy has learned that several stars skipped their morning performances due to a hotel fire on the night of March 16 that disrupted their sleep, but it’s not clear if the Full House cast were staying there. Meanwhile, the cast also didn’t answer audience questions like other guest stars during their panels.

Heavy attended the “Full House” panel where Bure, Sweetin, Coulier and Barber answered questions from a moderator. There were two white sofas on the stage for the stars to sit on during their performances. After Bure was introduced and seated, Sweetin was introduced and sat on the same couch at the other end.

After Barber and Coulier took their places on the second couch, they decided they’d all rather be on the same couch, so they got up to move. But neither Bure nor Sweetin moved from their seats, so their former colleagues squeezed in, according to tweets from several attendees.

Sweetin, Coulier, and Barber shared some of their favorite stories about Saget, but Bure didn’t talk much during the panel. Coulier suggested that the cast reunite for a second Full House spin-off. as reported by People.

“I’d love to do ‘Fullest House,’ where maybe it’s like all of us as adults, and we’re kind of like the ‘Friends’ cast, where we sit around and talk, and we share moments, and we keep Bob’s legacy alive .”

Barber then quipped, “That’s what we’re doing right now.”

Sweetin, who just wrapped up filming a mystery film for Hallmark, hinted during her performance in February Podcast “Steph Infection”. that her falling out with Bure wasn’t a deal-breaker for their friendship.

“We have our, you know, moments and we have our silly fights or whatever,” Sweetin said of the cast, “but we’re also very close. That’s what you do with family and siblings, you know what I mean? Sometimes you say ‘I’ll kill you’ and then ‘Anyway, pass me the mashed potatoes.’”

While Sweetin still follows Bure on Instagram, Bure has not returned to following Sweetin. However, she follows both Barber and Coulier, as well as many former Hallmark colleagues, including Benjamin Ayres, Jack Wagner, Chelsea Hobbs, Nikki DeLoach, Rachel Boston, Wes Brown, Andrew Walker, Alison Sweeney, Lacey Chabert, Erin Krakow, Jonathan Bennett and Kristoffer Polaha.
