Hallmark star Candace Cameron Bure has just signed a major deal with GAC Media to star and create original content for both GAC Family and GAC Living. This was announced by GAC Media on April 19.

Bure will take on a leadership role in the network

Bure is taking on a key leadership role with the network, GAC Media revealed in a press release shared with Heavy.

She will develop, star and produce films for both channels. The press release describes how Bure is “taking prominent leadership roles at the company to oversee and curate programs for the networks as a whole.” A large part of her role will be creating “year-round seasonal celebration content for the networks” and “playing a key role in the company’s annual Great American Christmas franchise.”

Bure will also produce and develop content through her company, Candy Rock Entertainment.

Bure said of her move in a statement, “I’m really looking forward to developing heartwarming family and faith-filled programs and doing the kind of stories that my family and I love to watch. “I’m constantly looking for ways to inspire people to live meaningful lives. GAC fits my brand perfectly; We share a vision of creating compelling, wholesome content for an audience that wants to watch programming for and with the whole family. Great, quality entertainment with a positive message – that’s what my partnership with GAC is all about!”

Bill Abbott, President and CEO of GAC Media, said in a statement, “Candace is adored by generations of fans as one of the most beloved and well-known stars in family entertainment. She helped make this genre the mainstream success it is today and I look forward to working with GAC Media as we continue to establish our brands as leaders in quality family programming. I am truly honored that she has chosen to be a part of, and help curate, her special brand of family entertainment here at Great American Channels.”

Bure just starred in Hallmark Channel’s The Christmas Contest for the 2021 holiday season. She’s also starring in Aurora Teagarden Mysteries.

It’s not clear at this time if this deal will impact the future of the mystery series on the Hallmark Channel. Heavy reached out to GAC Media to see if Bure’s role is exclusive or not.

GAC recently began airing Bure’s two daytime series, Full House and Fuller House, on GAC Family.

Former CEO of The Hallmark Channel founded GAC Media

Bill Abbott, former CEO of The Hallmark Channel, launched GAC Family and GAC Living under the umbrella of GAC Media on September 27, 2021. GAC Family aired 12 original Christmas films during the 2021 holiday season.

Danica McKellar signed an exclusive three-year deal with GAC Media, and Jen Lilley and Trevor Donovan also signed deals with the network.

Crown Media has also signed stars to multi-picture deals with the Hallmark Channel. Andrew Walker has just signed an exclusive deal with the company. His deal follows recent announcements by Lacey Chabert, Holly Robinson Peete, Brennan Elliott and Jonathan Bennett.
