Captain Sandy Yawn and Captain Lee Rosbach

Captain Sandy Yawn and Captain Lee Rosbach found themselves in an unexpected social media feud this season of Below Deck, and Yawn just shared where the two captains stand now.

As viewers know, Yawn took on the role of Captain Lee early in Season 10 after health issues forced the longtime Below Deck captain to abandon the boat. During his tenure, Yawn fired two of Rosbach’s crew members, Camille Lamb and Alissa Humber. However, in the last episode, fans learned that Rosbach was doing better and was on his way back to St. Lucia to finish the charter season.

While things appeared smooth between the two captains on-screen, Rosbach called out Yawn on social media after she fired Lamb, saying he would have appreciated a courtesy call ahead of time to let him know. Yawn has since confirmed that the two captains had not spoken, but said it was not due to a lack of effort on their part. “I tried calling him,” she said Us weekly on February 28th. “I’m not in his shoes. I don’t know what’s going on mentally. I can only imagine it,” she continued.

However, Yawn explained that she doesn’t hold grudges, telling the publication, “I’m just so grateful to be alive because I’ve almost died so many times. i have no enemies I’m here to love and to live and that’s it. As much as I love puppies, I love people and I love life.” She also shared that she would continue to fill in for Rosbach in the future if he needed it.

Captain Lee Rosbach said on screen that Captain Sandy Yawn made the right decision in dismissing 2 crew members

There was no on-screen indication of a problem between Rosbach and Yawn as Lamb and Humber’s shots unfolded. Yawn spoke to Rosbach on a video call after he fired Lamb, and he expressed no displeasure. After the longtime captain returned to the motor yacht St. David in the latest Below Deck episode, Yawn informed him that she had also fired Humber for disobedience.

“She did the right thing,” Rosbach explained in a confessional during the episode. “If they have to go, they have to go. She was the one who had to deal with it and I’m sure she made the best decision for the boat and the crew.” He said he appreciates the Below Deck Mediterranean captain who has replaced him and that he might one day be able to do the same for her.

On social media, however, it was a different story than Captain Lee tweeted after Lamb’s firing that Yawn, while ok with it, “lacked procedure and respect” by not calling him beforehand. Yawn disagreed, telling SiriusXM listeners: “reality checked” that he was in the hospital so she wouldn’t call him during his surgery and recovery. She said she felt sorry for Rosbach as it appeared he was going through something.

Captain Lee Rosbach shared that his health improved greatly after Season 10 of Below Deck

Rosbach’s health issue in Season 10 of “Below Deck” was caused by a nerve issue that affected his mobility. He explained earlier in the season that he couldn’t feel anything on the left side of his body and viewers could see him struggling to walk around the boat.

He said Us weekly that he had successful back surgery and got back into a fitness routine with regular sessions at the gym.

It appears that Rosbach’s health issues had an impact on Yawn in season 10, as she shared Us weekly that it motivated her to hit the gym and focus on her own health. “After seeing Captain Lee’s condition, I went back to the gym and started doing Pilates,” she said. “I honestly don’t want to be that, I want to be physically strong.”
