The second part of “The Challenge: Untold Story‘ which aired this week, and preview clips from the docu-series featured many past and present cast members responding to a question about who they thought was the greatest competitor of all time.
The preview included a short clip of Paulie Calafiore saying Laurel Stucky’s name. Several people, including Jemmye Carroll, reacted to this clip and expressed shock at Paulie’s choice, especially since he is dating two-time champion Cara Maria Sorbello. The response is all the more surprising given that it was Cara Maria and Laurel in contradiction to each other in the past.
Sharing the clip, Jemmye wrote on Twitter: “You guys really said Paulie Laurel? Like he wouldn’t date a 2-time champion? Lawd.. I hope there’s more to this clip because that’s reason enough for Cara to change the locks…” Jemmye also clarified that the production could have edited the clip, but when they did it showed “SHADE/HATE in her name”. She added:
B**** I’m really confused. It must have hurt Cara that he got the call she deserved filming the doctor then he got his ass in front of the lights and camera and said this sucks? His ghost flight back to New Jersey would be booked immediately.
Jemmye also explained that she thought Cara Maria should have been invited to appear in the docu-series since she “has dedicated a lot of her life to this franchise.” Both Paulie and Cara Maria took to social media to respond to the clip and Jemmye’s comments.

Paulie addressed the clip, noting the power of editing
Paulie retweeted a comment from Challenge Stats Account Remind fans that producers can edit competitors’ responses.
He wrote: “I didn’t think this needed to be explained by a challenge stats page. People should be more concerned about why layups on the female side were being called for over Cara. Imagine pretending to defend Cara after beating her up for YEARS. Using me as a scapegoat to evade responsibility is old.”
He also said television was meant to entertain people and slammed the cast members for making comments pretending they knew nothing about editing.
Cara Maria released a lengthy statement on her stories defending Paulie’s presence in the docu-series
Cara Maria also addressed the clip on social media, posting a lengthy text message on her Instagram Stories. “I can’t believe I have to address this,” she wrote. “Power of Editing for Impact: List a bunch of names and have a person say the names in a clip that will get fans talking the most.” ah.”
She went on to say that Paulie “had every right” to appear in the docu-series as a key early player to join the “Big Brother” franchise. The sole winner of “Vendettas” said: “It’s wilder to hear about certain women who flop and fail every time. But I digress.”
Cara pointed out that there are “legitimate toxic behaviors” by men on the show that fans are encouraged and cheered on, and that’s what they should focus on instead. The ‘Fresh Meat II’ star concluded by congratulating her former co-stars and wishing them well, but said that “trying to cause division outside of them [your reality tv life] Is not it.”
