Thomar turned up at the weekend youtube to tell his side of the story 205 Boyz podcast. The upload caption indicated that this was the case only Tell everything Thomar would say about the ordeal of his current ex-girlfriend:
“[This is] It is the first and last time that Thomar speaks publicly about this situation.”
In the interview, Thomar went into his reactions to the situation. On the one hand, he revealed that he had had no contact with the nursing student since the false report. He complained:
“I’m still recovering, still coping. It really traumatized me.”
From his point of view, how did it go? On July 13, he received a call from a family member of Carlee’s. During that call, the relative said the woman, now 26, had disappeared after she stopped on a motorway outside Birmingham when she saw a toddler walking down the road. Simmons recalled his emotional state at that moment:
“What? Stop playing. [They were like] “No I am serious. No, we can’t find her.’ What’s up?”
He immediately joined the search:
“I went to the search party, didn’t sleep, didn’t shower… I was looking for my girl.”
Russell returned home two days later. And just days later, police in the Hoover suburb were investigating that her disappearance was a fake.
Simmons explained that he and Russell had taken a trip to New York City a few weeks earlier, but he didn’t think anything about the trip could explain their actions:
“We were good. We had fun. We did tours of the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge. … We had a little argument, but it wasn’t a reason to kidnap yourself.”
And when the official confirmation of a hoax broke, he got even more upset:
“I was angry, I was sad. I’ve felt all sorts of emotions, brother. If you really wanted to tell me the truth, you could have told me. You could have told me before the police conference was held. You had time to tell me.”
As it went viral, several social media critics accused Simmons of either being part of the hoax, previously cheating on Carlee, or trying to gain influence through it.
He denied all three allegations, specifically defending himself against the false claim that he dated a stripper, which “really pissed me off.” Thomas concluded:
“There was no stripper. I haven’t been in a relationship with any stripper. … crazy people, brother. They don’t know anything about me or how I feel.”
