Carlos Santana is rescheduling the Indiana show three days after he was hospitalized after falling on stage

Three days after collapsing in the middle of a Michigan show, rock legend Carlos Santana postponed his return concert in Noblesville, Indiana, just minutes before he was due to take the stage.

Santana, 74, was preparing to play at the Ruoff Music Center on Friday when the decision was made to postpone the performance, according to USA Today.

Opening artists Earth, Wind & Fire had just finished their set when the audience was informed that Santana still didn’t feel well enough to perform.

An official informed the crowd that their tickets would be redeemed on the new date, already set for Wednesday, August 3.

Friday’s ill-fated show in Indianapolis was set to be his first since he collapsed onstage at Michigan’s Pine Knob Music Theater on Tuesday.

According to witnesses and multiple videos shared on social media, he was in the middle of his set in Clarkson, just over 40 miles north of Detroit, when he fell.

Medical staff continued to attend to the inductee of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame before he was carried off the stage.

He was briefly hospitalized and diagnosed with dehydration and heat exhaustion.

Santana’s team promptly canceled Wednesday’s scheduled show in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.

The legendary music artist’s team is taking no chances as it has postponed its next six concerts “out of a precaution for the artist’s health,” his manager Michael Vrionis of Universal Tone Management said Friday night.

The statement continued, “I regret to inform you that the Santana Band has postponed tonight’s show at the Ruoff Music Center Noblesville, Indiana. And we’re rescheduling the July 9th show at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio; July 10 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater – Summerfest Grounds in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; July 12 at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion in Rogers, Arkansas; July 15 at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Texas; July 16 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, Texas.

“Doctors recommended that Mr. Santana rest to fully recover.”

On Tuesday, the Grammy-winning guitarist shared a post on Facebook originally posted on his wife Cindy Blackman Santana’s page, thanking everyone for their “prayers, love, care and concern.”

Blackman wrote: “Please know he is resting and doing very well. He was diagnosed with heat exhaustion and dehydration…it was 100 degrees on stage and 114 under the lights so along with not drinking enough water caused the problem.

She added that Santana “will be as good as new soon.”

The Soul Sacrifice star also shared a message revealing that he “forgot to eat and drink water” before playing on Tuesday.

“I got dehydrated and passed out,” he continued, adding, “Blessings and miracles to you all.”

The Miraculous Supernatural Tour has 19 more dates left, running through the end of August 27 in Tampa before the band returns to Las Vegas for their residency at the House of Blues.

Just last December, the Smooth musician canceled a string of Las Vegas performances after undergoing unspecified and unscheduled heart surgery.

The next scheduled date for the tour is Saturday, July 9th at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

So far there is no official word on whether it will be canceled as well.
