Carragher responds when Arsenal are called “cowards”.

Jamie Carragher has said “you have a problem when Tottenham call you cowards” after Arsenal were accused of postponing the north London derby.

Talking to fans on The intersectionCarragher spoke to a Spurs supporter who criticized Arsenal for being “terrified” of playing the north London derby in January when they only had “one” case of COVID.

At the time, Arsenal were struggling to field an XI, with injuries, suspensions for Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka, then a COVID case that forced them to suspend play to a future date.

From that perspective, Mikel Arteta’s side are probably at an advantage because they are much stronger now, both in terms of availability and the form they are in.

But that’s what Spurs fan Flav had to say about Arsenal’s postponement of the north London derby in January, with Carragher issuing his answers.

Spurs fan Flav explained: “Everyone is praising Arteta here but he’s kind of spearheaded the charge or the idea that Arsenal shouldn’t be playing Tottenham at White Hart Lane a few months ago. Showing obvious elements of cowardice.”

Carragher responded to these claims: “You have a problem when Tottenham call you cowards.”

Flav then added: “They didn’t show up. You should have played that game.”

Carragher then reminded the Spurs fan: “You haven’t shown up in like 20 years.”

Flav then concluded by saying: “They were too scared to come and play Spurs at the WHL because they were worried about what the result might have been. They could have put together a team. You had a case of COVID.”

No new date has been set for the north London derby but timing will be very crucial.

At this moment it is Arsenal who are leading the way to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

But if that game comes, Spurs or Manchester United could be in that fourth spot.

Regardless of what happens or doesn’t happen, given their current position and games remaining for a number of weeks, Arsenal have known that this is now their job.
