Over the past few seasons, the Boston Celtics have had plenty of players come and go from the roster. In some cases, such as big man Al Horford, some even left the team and returned at a later date. The problem is, a lot of players have overtaken the organization.
During that time, the players formed a close relationship with each other. Guys like Kemba Walker, Kyrie Irving, and others are still close to some of the core members of the Celtics. And the other day, a former Celtics member had a humorous Twitter argument with striker Grant Williams.
Williams has started streaming on Twitch, and in turn, he got the chance to speak to a live audience. Well, during a recent live stream, Williams phoned former Celtics guard Josh Richardson, challenging him to a FIFA game. However, Richardson was not happy with the call.
“PIZZA.?!?!? There’s no way he can’t talk about me. We can put a thousand on it now @Grant2Will,” Richardson tweeted.
Obviously it’s all a joke between two former teammates, but it’s still funny to watch the interaction unfold. Richardson responded to Williams’ challenge because he didn’t think the bet had worked out enough.
Williams’ original challenge for Richardson
While playing the game Fall Guys on stream, the topic of FIFA came up. Williams named Richardson, who was his teammate on the Celtics earlier this past season and also attended the same college as Williams, as they are both Tennessee Volunteers.
“Celtic, Dallas Maverick, Philadelphia 76er, Miami Heat, and legendary Tennessee. Anytime you want to play FIFA hit my line. Simple and simple. Because, at the end of the day, you get pizza,” Williams declares.
It’s unclear where the pizza appears in the equation, but Williams is pretty confident he can take out Richardson in FIFA. But when Richardson responded to his challenge on Twitter, Williams saw it and complained that the veteran wing always needed to put money into the equation.
“Why should it always be money to you,” Williams replied.
Maybe someday we’ll see Williams and Richardson fight each other in FIFA for… a piece of pizza? Or, if Richardson gets his way, they can play for a thousand dollars. Regardless, the match is sure to be an interesting one to watch.
It’s also not the first time Williams has called out a fellow Celtic on Twitter, as he seems to enjoy causing an uproar on the internet.
Williams calls out Jayson Tatum
After recent photos of Tatum working out at the gym went viral on Twitter, Williams is sure to give his opinion. In one of the images, Tatum is seen using 75 lb weights, which Williams is quick to point out are light numbers.
“75 😂😂😂 @ jaytatum0,” Williams tweeted.
Tatum was quick to hit back, claiming it was just a warm-up, but despite that, watching Williams relentlessly troll his teammates and former teammates on Twitter was a pleasure to watch.
The only question is, who will be his next target? Follow the Celtics forward Twitter feed to find out.
