Now Celtic are skeptical about Dembele wanting to sign a new contract and doubt they will offer one. But Ange Postecoglou’s show of faith with minutes against St Mirren in the Premiership and Dundee United in the Scottish Cup has paved the way for talks.
Postecoglou has surprised some in the Celtic hierarchy by giving Dembele brief chances to show his potential. And more possibilities before his deal ends in May could see England, Scotland and others potential youth international of Ivory Coast decide to stay longer.
