Chicago is the number one rattiest city and New York is number two
Chicago, IL may be known as “The Windy City,” but it looks like they’re also known as the “rattiest” city.
In a new one Orkin reportthe city number one because it has the most rats, and New York number two.
Chicago has earned that title for the eighth straight year.
“Rodent infestations are among the biggest pest problems of the fall and winter season,” said Ben Hottel, an Orkin entomologist. “Not only are mice and rats a nuisance, but they are also known to spread a variety of dangerous diseases, including salmonella and hantavirus.”
Los Angeles and DC are third and fourth, respectively, while Denver came in 10th.
The ranking is based on the “number of new rodent treatments performed from September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2022”.
