Chicago loses a business citadel

The first step to recovery should be admitting that you have a problem. But Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker still won’t do it, even after billionaire Ken Griffin said Thursday he will move his Citadel hedge fund and securities trading firm from Chicago to Miami.

Mr. Griffin noted in a letter to employees that many workers have been vocal about relocating to other offices, including Miami. They don’t just want to escape the Chicago winters. Many are literally running for their lives amid a crime wave that shows no sign of abating. Chicago robberies to date are up 65% this year compared to last year.
