China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737 crashes in China with 132 people on board

BEIJING – A Boeing 737 passenger plane operated by China Eastern Airlines carrying 132 people has fallen from the sky and plunged into the mountains of southern China, according to officials and flight tracking data.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China said China Eastern Flight 5735 crashed in the Guangxi region while it was flying from the southwestern city of Kunming to the southern capital Guangzhou on Monday afternoon, the bureau said. Civil Aviation of China said in an online statement.
