Club find replacement for Tottenham target – but Paratici have kept an eye on him too

Tottenham and Everton want Rodrigo Becao and Torino to consider the Udinese ace as a possible replacement for the sought-after Bremen man.

It’s somewhat surprising to see Tottenham and Everton still being associated with centre-backs.

Tottenham have loaned Clement Lenglet from Barcelona and added a left-footed option for Antonio Conte.

Everton have brought in James Tarkowski on a free transfer from Burnley but are still being linked with potential signings at the back.

Tottenham and Everton want Rodrigo Becao

The surprising name in the frame is Udinese defender Becao, with whom both clubs have been linked of late.

This is what the Italian newspaper Messaggero Veneto claims that Everton and Tottenham have both expressed interest in Becao, with Fabio Paratici shopping in Italy again.

The report claims that Torino also want to sign Becao as they see him as a potential replacement for star defender Bremer.

Even add Tuttosport that contact has been made with Udinese to discuss a possible deal for Becao.

Bremer has been heavily linked with Tottenham this summer and Spurs reportedly stepped up talks for the Brazilian last month.

Many other clubs are also interested in Bremer and Torino need to keep an eye on potential substitutes.

Becao certainly makes sense as a proven Serie A defender, with the added irony that while Tottenham want Bremen, Torino could sign one of their alternative targets.

In truth, it’s hard to imagine Tottenham signing either Bremer or Becao this summer; Bremer is by far the better defender, winning the Serie A defensive MVP award last season, but Lenglet’s arrival will ease Tottenham’s need for centre-backs.

As for Everton, Becao will certainly not be a priority now that Tarkowski has joined – although Gianluca Di Marzio reported earlier this month that Everton were in talks over a deal.

Tarkowski joins Mason Holgate, Ben Godfrey, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in Everton’s pecking order for centre-back so does Frank Lampard really need someone else?

Becao is unlikely to join England this summer but he could secure a transfer with a move to Turin.
