Cody Rhodes sends emphatic message in emotional interview after WrestleMania 38

Cody Rhodes return WWE with a bang on Saturday after he was chosen as a mysterious opponent at WrestleMania 38.

He beat the world champion four times Seth Rollins to remind fans of what he’s been up to since leaving WWE in 2016.

He appeared unfazed for much of the encounter, suspending Rollins in the early stages of the match.

The mysterious opponent provided a Cross Rhodes mark, followed by punches and a Bionic Elbow, which proved too hot to handle for Rollins.

After the return of American Nightmare, an emotional Rhodes said in a backstage interview: ”I was here six years ago, or seven years ago at WrestleMania as Stardust. I had a good time, but I knew I was out.

“I did everything I could. I’ve shuffled every cage, I’ve tried to change every rule in our entire industry, I’ve had great partners and great people on my side, but I haven’t really Never thought I would come back here.

“When the time came, even when I thought it would never happen, it was the easiest decision I’ve ever made.”

“The worst thing is to keep it a secret in wrestling,” says Rhodes.

“At this show, you want to know but you don’t know until it happens. For 40 days, I had to be silent. I was very flattered; really, really flattering. I got to the final match with a really polarizing crowd, a little bit of “you suck”, a little bit of “we like you”. I’m fine with that as long as we’re making noise.

“But to feel their love, I kept saying thank you because that was all it was.

“Everybody can do wrestling moves in 2022, everyone can do anything but if you can find a connection with the audience, you’ve won.”
