Cold today, light snow showers in places

Tomorrow back to early spring with mid 50’s highs…
TODAY: Mostly cloudy, colder, scattered snow showers. Hello 37. Winds: SSE 5-15 mph.
TONIGHT: Partial clearing, seasonal. Lo 26. Winds: Light.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny, milder. Hi 55. Winds: W 10-20 mph.
It will actually feel like winter for the first half of our weekend! Today is cloudy with occasional snow showers. Some echoes are visible on radar this morning, but there’s a lot of dry air near the surface, so few flakes make it to the bottom. A second stretch of this disruption will come our way around midday, giving us a better opportunity for snow showers. It won’t be a big deal either way… but the best snow chances will come over our southern counties… closer to the path of this wave. Today’s highs are being held in the 30’s thanks to clouds and easterly currents.
Sunday is looking gorgeous with mostly sunny skies and temperatures jumping back into the mid 50’s! The next area of low pressure slides through late Monday bringing snow to New England but mostly mostly steady rain for our area Monday night/early Tuesday. Some evidence points to a brief initial spell of sleet or snow over our northern counties… but for now it doesn’t look like having an impact. Much of the next week will be mild again with highs in the 40’s and 50’s although no more 60’s appear! Another front will be crossed next Thursday which will bring another chance of showers. Persistently cold or wintry weather will have to wait until March, with only temporary bouts of cold air in the meantime.
