With just one move, the Las Vegas Raiders transformed their wide-collected legion. The addition of Davante Adams will be one of the biggest moves any team makes this season. The team already has solid attacking personnel but adding Adams to the team will give them an elite group of players.
Adams and Hunter Renfrow make a great duo but the Raiders can go crazy and try to create an elite trio. The team still doesn’t have a great speed vertical plan. Tyron Johnson is fast but he failed to catch a pass with his teammates last season. Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine suggested the Raiders make a “sensational” transaction and send the Houston Texans this year’s three-year draft selection and next four-year round selection to the broad recipient Brandin Cooks:
Davante Adams is clearly the number 1 cashier in Las Vegas. Hunter Renfrow is a great placement pick, and Bryan Edwards continues to grow.
Those roles are likely to remain intact while giving Carr a highly productive 2nd place in the Cooks. His contract will need to be restructured – his base salary for 2022 is $12.5 million, according to Spotrac – but he is ripe for a contract extension to ease the problems. about the limit he can bring.
Derek Carr could be the fourth best defender in a league that features two generations of talent and a rising superstar. The best fix is to load Carr with as many weapons as possible, and this is an undeniable move.

Cooks will become a perfect match for the Raiders
The Cooks are one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL. In eight seasons, he broke 1,000 yards six times but never made it to a Pro Bowl. Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels has had the same success with the Cooks as he did with the New England Patriots in 2017. That season, he had 65 catches for 1,082 yards. McDaniels knows how to use Cooks and he knows the offense. It would be a perfect fit.
Adams can do everything you want from a wide receiver but Cooks has a more straight line speed. He ran a 4.33 40 yard dash. Combining him with Adams and Renfrow would give the Raiders one of the best wide receiver trios in the NFL. Derek Carr enjoys a good deep threat and the Cooks will have another big year if he finds himself in Las Vegas.
Ballentine makes a good point. Carr is very good but he is still the 4th best quarterback in the AFC West. To counter that, Raiders can simply equip weapons. Even without the Cooks trade-in, the team still has great weapons. Adams is the best wide receiver in the NFL, Renfrow is one of the best slot receivers, Darren Waller is the top 3 top and Josh Jacobs is the top 10 coming back.
Carr has plenty of weapons to work with, and the Raiders can have the best in the AFC West with Tyreek Hill traded in from Kansas City Sheriffs. Adding Cooks will definitely give Las Vegas the best weapons in the squad.
