Alan Shearer has claimed the football produced by Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp at Manchester City and Liverpool was ‘totally outrageous’. as he told the weekend preview.
The Premier League legend added that fans are “happy” to have such great managers in English football.
Both Man City and Liverpool, who have been the two standouts for a number of years, will be in contention for the title at the Etihad on Sunday.
In years past, Man City have walked away with the main crown with no real worries in the final weeks of the season, while Liverpool did the same when they were injured for 30 years two seasons ago.
But for the first time in a long while, this season-ending game could well see the winner walking away with the main crown, while Shearer shared his thoughts on the two men in the dugout.
“What these managers have done for their clubs,” Shearer said. “They have produced football in recent years that has been completely outrageous.
“The level of football that these two gave us was just amazing.
“We were lucky to see Man United win the treble and Arsenal the double in 1998.
“But these two, how they pushed each other. The way they pushed each other to the top to try to emulate each other was just great and us, the neutrals, were just brilliant to watch.”
Previously, losing points, such as B. tying in a football game or losing a few points, still a nod towards the Premier League title.
But the level of performance from these two is now absolutely ridiculous that even a draw is considered a major defeat.
Both teams score over 90 points and produce such quality that no other team can match their pace.
This riveting race is now heading towards its final few hurdles, and don’t slip here as it could ruin your hopes of becoming champion.
