Conte says he could be wrong about ‘good’ Tottenham player
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has admitted Football.London that maybe he was making the mistake of not picking Joe Rodon.
Conte made his remarks about Rodon following Tottenham’s Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.
Tottenham’s decline 2-0 meet Wolves at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Former Swansea City centre-back Rodon is not playing.
The 24-year-old is not used as a substitute for Tottenham.
Davinson Sanchez, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies were the three central defenders at the start of the game.
Antonio Conte on Joe Rodon
Conte said Football.London on Rodon: “We’re talking about a really nice guy. His commitment is very high but in this moment maybe I made the mistake of picking different players but my assessment is to try to put on the best players. If I hadn’t done this I probably would have considered another.”
Should Rodon have a chance?
In our view, it is possible Tottenham Head coach Conte may soon give Rodon a chance.
Spurs have now lost their last three games and the defense looks vulnerable.
Conte can completely make changes at the back in the upcoming matches.
Now, Rodon doesn’t get an exact run in the team.
In our opinion, Conte should give the Welshman a chance.
We won’t find out if Rodon can cut at this level until and unless he has had enough of a chance to showcase his abilities.
The Welsh player made 13 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
