Cop who killed Breonna Taylor complains about not getting her job back

Cosgrove and three of his former officers joined the raid – Brett Hankison, Joshua Jaynes and Johnathan Mattingly – all have been fired or laid off since the incident.

Earlier this year, Cosgrove and Jaynes pleaded with their department to get their jobs back, insisting that the termination of their contracts was simply the result of “political and social pressure”.

“It seems likely that our higher-ups will assist us in our efforts to protect ourselves and others, as long as no other group of protesters or political pressure demands otherwise.” Cosgrove wrote in a joint letter with Jaynes. “Your leaders aren’t afraid to do the same things as you.”
