Police are looking for a gunman who shot and killed another man in the front yard of a townhouse.

Queensland Police said officers established a crime scene at a house on Cliveden Avenue in Oxley, south-west Brisbane, at 3.25am on Tuesday.

They’re currently treating the shooting as murder.

The investigation means the drop-off area at nearby Corinda State School will be closed until after 9 a.m., delaying students’ start on the first day of semester four.

“Due to an emerging situation on Cliveden Ave, parents are being asked to allow additional time for school drop-off this morning as Cliveden Ave is closed,” the school wrote on its Facebook page.

“Area streets and Corinda State High School are open.”

The crime scene also involves the nearby Eden Academy daycare.
