fan favorite “Dancing with the starsProfessional dancer Daniella Karagach will not be in the ballroom for the second episode of the show’s 31st season.

Before the broadcast of “Elvis Night,” it was revealed that Karagakh had tested positive for COVID-19. Her partner, Joseph Baena, is joined by squad member Alexis Warr instead.

“Just arrived: @DKaragach has unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be performing tonight during #DWTS,” Desiree Murphy tweeted. “Craft member Alexis Warr will step in to dance with @JoeBaenaOfcl. Feel better Daniella!”

Karagakh later confirmed the news on her Instagram.

“Hey guys, unfortunately I have tested positive for Covid and will not be performing tonight,” she wrote. “I’m absolutely disappointed and heartbroken, I can’t be there but I know it [Beana] is in good hands [Alexis Warr]. Alexis, thanks again for being awesome and filling in for me. You are amazing and I can’t wait to see you both shine.”

She added, “We’ve been working so damn hard this week and I know you guys got that.”

Baena will still perform

Baena, who some fans consider an underdog, will continue to perform with Warr.

“Proud of you @joebaena show ’em how it’s done,” Karagach wrote on her Instagram Stories after testing positive.

Baena went live on Instagram to announce to his fans that he will be dancing with Warr.

“Dani isn’t allowed to dance with me, be on set, do anything, so today I’m with Alexis, another great dancer, she’s going to be great, we’re going to be great, we pulled through and it’s very unfortunate because Dani and I have ground so hard, but we are delighted. We’ll pull through. I still know my steps… watch your posture,” he told viewers. “It’ll be fine guys. That’s what we’ve been training for, so we’re ready for anything.”

He added, “I know diamonds are made under pressure and that’s a lot of pressure.”

He said he and Warr would be rehearsing more and asked everyone to vote for the couple.

“We will crush,” he added. “I’ve finished my preworkout, I’m ready to go. There’s some creatine in there, you know, pump up a little, I’m going to eat some carbs beforehand…I’m going to wear a suit.”

He shared that he’s delighted with the suit he’s allowed to wear.

After the premiere, “Dancing With the Stars” had a COVID outbreak., according to The Wrap.

At that time there were four positive cases in over 300 employees.

The spokesman told the outlet:

Over the course of five days, there were a total of four Covid positives among more than 300 production workers. All four people work in completely different departments that have no personal contact with each other due to our pod system.

Contact tracing was carried out immediately. All close contacts were notified and set to an increased test rhythm. No close contact of the four positive production workers has since tested positive. The entire set has been disinfected. As an extra precaution, we have asked the majority of employees to work from home.

Karagach previously said Elvis week was tough

Karagach posted Sunday night to tell Baena how proud she was of him and how tough the week has been for the pair.

“This week was really tough” she shared. “I know this process can be frustrating at times, but it all comes down to how you go about it. @JoeBaena you are a rock star and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner for this season. Her determination and work ethic is admirable. I am so proud of the dancer you are becoming.”

The two were supposed to perform a Viennese waltz, which is a stark contrast to the jive they played during the premiere.

If they get voted into the next round, they’ll perform together again next Monday.
