Danielle Fishel shares why she was afraid to start it Boy meets world Check out the podcast again with her former co-stars Rider Strong and Will Friedle.
The actress told People magazine In an interview published online Saturday, she said she feared that Pod meets world The podcast “could” ruin the popular ABC sitcom for fans.
“We don’t want our review or our reviews or our experiences to change your opinion of the show in any way,” said Fishel, who played Topanga Lawrence. “It’s just our honest opinions, and we can’t do it if we’re not honest.”
During each podcast episode, the trio rewatches the series and shares behind-the-scenes moments and memories from their time on the show.
“I was just left with an overarching feeling about the entire experience as opposed to the show and its values or its core points or how good it was,” Fishel added. “And now that I watch it, I think, ‘Man, that’s a really good show,’ and what an amazing experience we had.”
Boy meets world premiered in 1993 and ran for seven seasons before ending in 2000. Disney+ also later rebooted, Girl meets world, which followed the lives of Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence’s daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard). It aired for three seasons from 2014 to 2017.
When the former cast members initially floated the idea of starting a podcast about the show, Strong, who played Shawn Hunter, said: “Ultimately we decided it was kind of a journey rather than just watching the show and talking about it, how great she is.” We all agree: it’s really great. We wanted it to be more of a personal journey for us and to be honest.”
