Dave Chisnall advances to Round 3 of the Cazoo World Darts Championship
DAVE Chisnall fought back against Andrew Gilding after a slow start to reach the third round of the Cazoo World Darts Championship.
Chisnall lost the opening set but rebounded to win 3-1, with a 97.87 average fourth-highest to date.
But in a game where both players threw seven 180s, it was never easy in front of the crowd at Alexandra Palace.
He bounced out a few times, and not always when hitting other darts.
Even after the St Helens darter took a 2-1 lead, it looked very much like Gilding could make it into a crucial set as he took a two-leg lead in the fourth set.
However, Chisnall took control as the set progressed to post a marker and advance to the next round.
There he could face fellow St. Helens darter Stephen Bunting, who plays American Leonard Gates in tonight’s final.
We’ll have a full recap after tonight’s Bunting match.
