A hilarious content creator named Miles Fisher uses deepfake technology to impersonate US actor Tom Cruise, and one viral video in particular has fooled millions of viewers.

The popular TikTok video shows Tom Cruise jumping over the head of AFI presenter and actor Keegan-Michael Key before turning to the camera and joking with the comedian.

No, Tom Cruise’s AFI Awards jump video is not real. The humorous content starring Miles Fisher and Keegan-Michael Key was actually created using AI technology called deepfake.

Deepfakes are synthetic media in which a person’s face or body has been digitally altered to appear to be someone else.

Miles Fisher (@mile fisherman) has a huge Instagram following of more than 200,000 users, sharing details about his content creation, business, family life and more.

He is the founder of Bixby Coffee, a service that offers subscriptions to freshly roasted coffee

As shown on his Facebook Profile, James Leslie Miles Fisher attended Harvard University and graduated in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature/literature.

Fisher lives in Los Angeles, California and is married to his wife Lucy Blodgett Fisher since June 28, 2014.

In conversation with today, Fisher describes deepfake as “the latest technology”. He explained that he is working with Belgian visual effects specialist Chris Umé to create the videos and clarified that the couple does not benefit from the account.

@deeptomcruise has over three million followers on TikTok alone, with all of his content featuring deepfake videos of Tom Cruise.

Miles Fisher also implicated coffee founder and content creator Emma Chamberlain in a deepfake video in which the internet personality comically punched him.
