Winks is now likely to seek a move from north London to secure regular playing time next season. His departure is expected to see Conte keen to sign a more offensive option to support defensive end Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp.

The Irons explored the signing of Kanoute as well as interest from three Premier League sides as of The guard. But he sealed instead a €6.5m (£5.5m) to move to Seville, where he would remain until 2012. Kanoute joined Chinese club BJ Guoan until his retirement in December 2013.
