Democrats panic over Biden finishing Title 42: ‘A scary decision’

House and Senate Democrats, representing battleground and swing states, are panicking over President Joe Biden’s “scary decision” to end border control under Title 42 — a move expected to cause the biggest wave illegal immigration in American history.

On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that the Biden administration would end Title 42 — a sweeping authority that allows federal immigration officials to swiftly return frontier workers and illegal aliens to their home countries.

As a result, Biden officials admit that between 500,000 and 540,000 cross-border commuters and illegal aliens are expected to cross the United States-Mexico border each month. That equates to a population the size of Atlanta, Georgia or Fresno, California arriving at the border in just 28 to 30 days.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) called the move “a scary decision.”

“Title 42 has been an essential tool in combating the spread of COVID-19 and controlling the flow of migrants to our southern border,” Manchin said. “We’ve already faced an unprecedented surge in migrants this year and it’s only going to get worse if the government ends the Title 42 policy. We are far from prepared to deal with this influx.”

Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Mark Kelly (D-AZ), both of whom urged Biden to keep Title 42, said the decision shows how deeply the White House fails to understand the toll illegal immigration takes on border communities.

“Today’s decision to announce an end to Title 42, despite the lack of a comprehensive plan, shows a lack of understanding of the crisis on our border,” Sinema said.

“It’s the wrong decision. It is unacceptable to end Title 42 without a plan and coordination to ensure a safe, orderly and humane process at the border,” Kelly said:

From my numerous visits to the southern border and conversations with Arizona law enforcement, community leaders, mayors and non-profit organizations It is clear that the lack of a plan from this government to deal with this crisis will continue to weigh on our border communities. [Emphasis added]

Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH), who like Kelly faces a tough re-election this year, has slammed Biden for ending Title 42, writing that the decision will “likely result in a surge in migrants that the government is not seems ready for.”

Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX), who is running against Republican challenger Mayra Flores in the 34th congressional district, said he is asking Biden to reconsider the decision to end Title 42.

“Earlier this week, I joined my colleagues across the aisle to raise concerns and request simple information about how the CDC, DHS and other federal agencies plan to keep order and prevent border communities from being overwhelmed,” said Gonzalez.

“I beg the government to provide this information immediately and to ensure that South Texas and the communities bordering the US-Mexico have the resources they need,” he said.

Even Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), the Senate pro-amnesty lawmaker, said so Washington Post that he is concerned that the May 23 end date of Title 42 is likely to give foreigners an incentive to prepare early for border crossings.

“For a government afraid of creating ‘pull factors,’ I fear that delaying it could create the biggest pull factor of all,” Menendez said.

As Breitbart News exclusively reported on Friday, federal immigration officers have already detained more than a million cross-border commuters and illegal aliens in fiscal year 2022, which began Oct. 1, 2021.
