Destiny 2 Iron Banner & Daily Challenges for Season 17

According to Bungie, the first Destiny 2 Iron Banner will begin on May 31st and end on June 7th, 2022. A second Iron Banner will also be held during Season 17, but this will not happen until July 2022. And while the Activity isn’t anything new in the world of Destiny 2, it’s seen some big changes. These adjustments were made because Valus Forge’s competitive event is feeling a bit monotonous compared to other events in the game.

The big news is that Bungie has disabled power leveling and added a new PvP map alongside Rift. The new map, named Disjunction, will be available for all modes, although Rift is only for Iron Banner until Season 18. A brief description from Bungie explains, “We think you’ll really enjoy this new area, and not just for the intended design that offers more strategic opportunities. Not only does it continue the Throne Worlds theme, but it’s also one of the biggest maps we’ve had in PvP.”

Bungie has also provided an overview of how some of the normal event features will work, including the Destiny 2 Iron Banner daily challenges.

According to the development team, Wardens will be able to unlock a new daily challenge for the first four days of each Iron Banner week. These challenges unlock every day, whether you complete them or not. So if you log in on Friday, you can run them all one at a time if you like. The rewards stack reputation bonuses for the rest of the week along with a Pinnacle Iron Engram. And the weekly rewards that Pinnacles normally award have been adjusted accordingly to compensate for this change.

This means that by completing the Iron Banner daily challenges, it is possible to increase your challenge multiplier by 100% for the rest of the week, including for each challenge.

For more explanations on how rewards and reputation work as part of Iron Banner, see below:

Earning Rewards: Iron Banner tokens will be removed beginning Season 17 and replaced with a similar ranking system comparable to Saint-14 and Shaxx. Earn Iron Engrams as you level up and unlock cosmetic rewards and materials for your playtime. But it’s not just the reward path that changes, Saladin also gets a full channelization implementation. Players can convert Iron Engrams into any current Iron Banner weapon or armor set previously earned using in-game materials for a fee. In future seasons, we’ll strive to add more, including legacy Iron Banner gear and cosmetics.

Reputation – Here’s how the revamped Iron Banner reputation works:
Play matches with each match to earn more for Iron Banner reputation.
Win games to get a small bonus based on your current Iron Banner rank.
Wear Iron Banner armor (or simply embellish your own non-Iron Banner gear) and equip Iron Banner weapons to maximize your gear multiplier to 200%.
There are five pieces to equip in total, but please remember that this includes Iron Banner armor and Iron Banner ornaments.
