Did the singer go to college?

Taylor Swift didn’t go to college, New York University, or anything else.

In 2013, the star told Marie Claire that “getting a college degree … kinda, kinda” was on her wish list. However, she has reportedly yet to enroll in a university program.

Prior to college education, Swift graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA and finished her final two years in one year while being homeschooled so she could begin her music career Rolling Stone.

She previously attended Hendersonville High School in Hendersonville, Tenn for her freshman and sophomore years and CMT reports that the school has since named its auditorium after Taylor Swift.

More about her performance at NYU

Although it may sound similar, an honorary degree is different than a regular college or university degree.

Higher Ed jobs states that “an honorary degree recognizes someone whom a university committee deems honorable by offering them a special position in the university community.”

Rather than being a student, it is more likely to be a public figure who may have offered financial or political support to the institution.

In summary, honorary degrees are often listed as awards on a resume rather than falling under the education category.
