Liverpool are interested in Aurelien Tchouameni and Monaco now admit it takes a ‘very aggressive’ offer to consider a sale.
The Reds may have finished their season in the Premier League but they still have a big game ahead of them.
The Champions League final against Real Madrid is on Saturday and Liverpool can complete a treble with a win.
Liverpool and Real Madrid are not only fighting for the Champions League, but also for the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni.
The Monaco man is in demand this summer and there are conflicting reports about his target.
Liverpool are interested in Aurelien Tchouameni
Tchouameni has emerged as one of the best young midfielders in Europe this season after excelling with Monaco.
Tchouameni is tall, lean, combative and also capable of carrying the ball through midfield. He looks set to become the perfect box-to-box midfielder.
The 22-year-old is a huge talent and unsurprisingly aroused great interest.
L’Equipe claim Tchouameni has dreams of signing for Liverpool this summer.
The Mirror suggest Liverpool have agreed terms with Tchouameni but they still believe he will sign for Real Madrid instead.
It’s unclear where Tchouameni is going with wildly conflicting reports about his attitude towards Liverpool.
This would be a huge conquest for Liverpool and the fee involved would add up to a massive £67million.
Monaco’s sporting director Paul Mitchell has now commented on Tchouameni’s future.
In conversation with RMC SportMitchell claims he has no preference whether to sell to Liverpool or Real Madrid.
Mitchell called Tchouameni a “top player” and “incredibly talented” but subsequently wants a “very aggressive” transfer for the midfielder.
That £67m price tag may fit exactly what Monaco wants and Liverpool must now hope to convince the Frenchman this summer.
“To be honest, I don’t have a preference,” Mitchell said. “As always when you sell a player there has to be fair compensation. The market is different every year. Everyone could see what a top player Aurélien is, but everyone also knows that we are an ambitious club with an ambitious shareholder, so no, I have no preference when it comes to selling him.”
“We have to be very aggressive in terms of supplies to lose such an incredibly talented player,” he added.
