As of April 2022, Lewis Hamilton has no children of his own.

The 37-year-old does not rule out starting a family later when he hangs up his helmet.

The Briton, winner of a record 103 grands prix, has hinted in the past that after retiring he will settle in Colorado in the United States, where he owns an estate.

Even if Lewis Hamilton is not yet a father to children, that does not mean that all F1 drivers are in the same boat.

Only three dads drive in the 2022 grid – although a fourth could be considered.

The fourth F1 driver to be a father is Nico Hulkenberg.

After Vettel was benched for the first two races in 2022 due to COVID-19, Aston Martin reserve driver Hulkenberg stepped in.

His baby daughter was born in September 2021 partnering Egle Ruskyte.

In recent years, a number of dads have left the F1 grid.

Danill Kvyat lost his AlphaTauri racing seat for 2021 – while Romain Grosjean’s F1 career burst into flames in a Bahrani barrier.

Father-of-three Grosjean left F1 anyway at the end of 2020 and has since found a home with IndyCar in the US, where he drives for powerhouse Andretti Autosport.
