Does NASA video show aliens flying 2 rectangular UFOs?
Video captured by NASA showed aliens flying two rectangular UFOs.
On February 21, 2023, a Twitter user posted a video with a caption claiming it was taken “eight years ago” by NASA, showing two rectangular UFOs being flown by aliens.
The tweet read: “Two UFOs recorded by NASA eight years ago have finally been released. Two rectangular UFOs are moving rapidly through an ‘airless’ region of space. It turns out this is beyond NASA’s technology.” The tweet ended with the hashtag “#Aliens”.
Readers will probably not be surprised to learn that this is not true.
That tweet was misleading to say the least.

The video was actually released by NASA, but it was not “taken” by cameras. The clip featured a digital animation created by NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio showing two of NASA’s twin satellites Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) mission, not “two rectangular UFOs” flown by aliens. The portion of the tweet appears at 1:37 in the upload of the video on NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s YouTube channel.

GRACE’s original science mission ended in October 2017. NASA published that their purpose was to “study key changes in the planet’s waters, ice sheets and solid Earth”:
An award-winning mission that changed the way we study the Earth’s gravitational forces and the Earth system, the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment or GRACE mission, flew two spacecraft in tandem around the Earth to observe important changes in the waters, ice sheets and the earth of the planet to examine solid earth.
In 2011, the gravitational sensing technique developed by GRACE, which measures changes in the pressure and pull between the twin spacecraft as they orbit the Earth, was used on NASA’s GRAIL twin spacecraft, which embarked on an ambitious mission to study the gravitational forces of the moon the earth.
In more than 15 years of operation, the GRACE satellite mission has revolutionized our understanding of how water moves and stores on Earth.
GRACE has measured changes in local gravity as water moves around the Earth due to changing seasons, weather and climate processes.
Among its innovations, GRACE has monitored the loss of ice mass from the Earth’s ice sheets, improved understanding of the processes responsible for sea level rise and ocean circulation, and provided insights into where global groundwater resources are shrinking or growing and where dry soils are contributing to drought and observed changes in the solid earth.
