Dog walker caught pretending to pick up puppy poo from the lawn of his home in Kareela, south Sydney

A shady dog walker was caught on CCTV footage pretending to pick up his dog’s poop from a residents’ lawn.
An angry homeowner in Kareela in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire released video of the man leaving dog poop on her front yard – after pretending to pick it up with a dog poop bag.
The footage shows the man walking the dog on a leash down a quiet cul-de-sac before stopping to allow his pooch to heed nature’s call.
The man quickly scans the street for witnesses before pulling a plastic bag from his pocket.
He then seems to struggle to open the bag while his dog, having done his business, circles the man ready to continue his walk.
Curiously, the man then crouches and appears to pretend to pick up the dog poo off the lawn without touching the poo.
Then he turns and pretends to pick up another imaginary pile from the path.

A dog owner was caught on video surveillance apparently picking up a puppy’s droppings from the lawn of a house in Kareela, south Sydney (pictured).
Thinking he got away with the faux poo collection, the man even puts the unused doggie bag back in his pocket.
Under the New South Wales Companion Animals Act 1998, those responsible for a dog must collect and dispose of their pooch’s excrement.
The offense carries a fine of at least $275 up to a maximum of $880, depending on the municipality.
The law only makes an exception for the owners of service animals such as guide dogs.
