Donald Trump steals the spotlight at future daughter-in-law Kimberly Guilfoyle’s birthday party

Donald Trump toasted his future daughter-in-law Kimberly Guilfoyle at her birthday party with a speech that covered familiar territory for the former president.

Around 400 guests attended the event in Jupiter, Fla., where Trump’s toast to the 54-year-old suddenly turned into a rant about illegal immigration.

Few celebrities were present at the celebration, most of the attendees were potential donors and neighbors.

In Trump’s lengthy speech, he praised Guilfoyle as he spoke of his excitement at welcoming her into the family if son Don Jr. marries her.

He thanked her for her help with the campaign, describing her as a “great addition,” while calling her and Don Jr. a “wonderful couple.”

Trump then took some time to deliver a few political jabs to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and President Biden, prompting laughter, according to the New York Post.

Recent polls show Trump and DeSantis neck and neck in Iowa’s early GOP vote. DeSantis has not officially announced himself as a candidate for the 2024 White House.

“We’re fighting very hard, we’ve got a country that’s in very bad shape, we’ve got millions and millions out of mental institutions, prisons and 128 countries,” Trump said.

“At least 98 are releasing all their inmates from mental asylums and metal institutions in the US to the US – and why wouldn’t they? It’s a disaster, including many, many terrorists. We have to change it. It’s been an amazing campaign so far,” he ranted.

Don Jr. also spoke, describing Guilfoyle as the “love of my life” and recounting his excitement at walking her down the aisle when they get married.

The Post says that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were invited to the event but did not attend due to a previous family commitment. Donald Trump’s other daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, was present at the birthday celebration.

Trump is used to stealing the spotlight during others’ celebrations.

There have been a number of occasions on which Trump has appeared in recent years, but all too often the conversation has turned to politics.

In 2021, Trump took to the dance floor at his country club Mar-a-Lago, which hosted a wedding reception at which he lamented his election loss and railed against President Biden, China, Iran and the southern border crisis.

Trump appeared at the reception desk in a tuxedo, where he appeared to be toasting the newlyweds.

But no sooner had he got behind one of the band’s mics than Trump suddenly shifted gears and got all political, as if he were back on the campaign trail.

The former president took the spotlight for more than two and a half minutes on the couple’s big day, covering a range of issues including Biden’s shortcomings, foreign policy, China, Iran and the border situation with Mexico.

Similar to one of his rallies, he then asked the crowd to cheer: “Do you miss me already?” before finally toasting the newlyweds.
