“Don’t say gay” is popular? you don’t say it

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis this week signed into law what opponents have dubbed the “don’t say gay” law. It bans “classroom teaching” on “sexual orientation or gender identity” from kindergarten through third grade. Polite opinion is almost unanimously against, but open your ears to the vox populi.

“When Americans are presented with the actual language of the new Florida law, it wins more than a two-to-one vote in support,” according to a new Public Opinion Strategies poll. Overall, 61% of people said they supported the don’t say gay bill, while 26% opposed it.
