dr Disrespect, despite praise for the closed beta, shares its primary concern for THE FINALS
The Final(s) problem.
YouTube streamer Dr. Never shy from sharing a mustachioed opinion, Disrespect opened up about the upcoming FPS The Finals following the release of the game’s closed beta in March 2023. The title, Developed by Embark Studios for PC and consoles, it attracted considerable attention prior to its full release.
One of the streamers and content creators to dive into his futuristic action was Dr. Disrespect, who was pleasantly surprised by its smooth movement and smooth weapon mechanics.
However, in a YouTube live stream on March 9, he outlined his primary concern for the game, stating that it needs to “evolve” beyond what it currently is to ensure it has a long-term future in the saturated FPS space .
He said: “I’m telling you man, the game actually feels good. It feels good…I had a good time. Of course there are a few tuning situations, but that’s all part of this whole closed beta… I’d be curious to see how this game develops.
“This is just my feedback now – love the agility, the movement. I would be curious to see how this game develops in terms of game mode. Because I think that’s going to be something that needs to evolve to keep some sort of progression going [and] interest in the long term.”
He went on to suggest that the game lean more closely into its similarities to Apex Legends and emulate the competitive nature of Respawn’s battle royale.
He concluded, “You can tell they’re really inspired by Apex… on smaller maps it’s almost like a cross between Battlefield and Apex. It will be interesting. But how is the game evolving over the long term and how is it continuing to grow?”
The closed beta was a resounding success for Embark Studios, with the developers even releasing a statement on March 9th to thank so many players for engaging with their upcoming title. There is no confirmed release date for the title yet.
