Entertainment

New world, same stone problems.

The latest part of the Dr. Stone Animes has received a new trailer and offers a firm release date for the first episode of the upcoming course.

The trailer, streamed by Toho Animation and Crunchyroll on March 12, serves as a teaser for the upcoming season of animation and clips from the story. It also concludes by revealing that the series will premiere on April 6th both in Japan and via simulcasting thanks to Crunchyroll, setting it up for the Spring 2023 anime season.

The trailer begins with Senku explaining that they need Platinum to create a near-endless supply of revival fluid. Luckily, a faraway island might hold such a supply, meaning they must set sail and explore that faraway location to see if it can provide them with the materials they need.

Though Senku and his allies are excited at the prospect, things quickly turn murky once they reach the island. A new enemy appears to intercept them, and by some unknown means turns everyone aboard their ship back into stone statues. How this is done and why remains a mystery, but it is clear that Senku will face another battle between wits and science.

It’s a short but detailed trailer, and the show’s trademark style is brought to the fore even in the more modest animated segments. Fans will definitely want to check it out in its entirety below.

dr Stone New World is scheduled to air on Crunchyroll on April 5, and those interested can currently watch the first two seasons and the Ryuusui special on the streaming platform. For more information on the series, see the related links below.
