Drew Barrymore stops her talk show return after backlash!

Good news! Drew Barrymore has made the decision to stop the return of The Drew Barrymore Show!

The 48-year-old actress accepted it Instagram announced Sunday morning that it would not resume production of the daytime talk show until the Hollywood strike was over. She wrote in a short post:

“I have listened to everyone and am making the decision to pause the premiere of the show until the strike is over. I don’t have the words to sincerely apologize to everyone I hurt and of course to our incredible team that works on the show and made it what it is today. We were really trying to find the way forward. And I really hope for a solution for the entire industry soon.”

As you know, Drew faced a lot of backlash last week for announcing her show’s return for season four amid the ongoing strikes. No one ever expected the Scream star to cross the picket lines as she had previously resigned as host MTV Movie & TV Awards in solidarity with the authors. Although Drew apologized for her decision, no one was willing to accept it at the time as she still planned to bring the series back rather than fight for striking writers.

But maybe the backlash was too much for her, right? Rosie O’Donnell‘s advice has reached her because now she has changed her mind!

We’re glad Drew finally did the right thing and paused the revival of her show while writers continue to push for fair wages and better working conditions. We hope she learned her lesson from this debacle. Reactions? Sound OFF in the comments below.
