Drill rappers claim they were removed from New York’s Rolling Loud lineup at the request of the NYPD

Rolling Loud has dropped three New York drill rappers from their lineup at the request of the New York City Police Department.

The New York Times reports that the NYPD was seeking the removal of Bronx rappers ShaEk, RonSuno and 22Gz, representatives of the rappers told the publication.

The parades come just a day before the start of the weekend-long festival at Citi Field in Queens.

The removal of drill rappers is nothing new to the NYPD. In 2019 festival organizers were removed Casanova, PopSmokeand SheffG from the list of performers.

The New York City Police Department believes that if these individuals are allowed to perform, there is a greater risk of violence, the motion states.

The mayor of New York speaks out against drill music

Earlier this year, Mayor Eric Adams suggested that social media platforms should ban drill music.

He said,

I had no idea what drill rapping was but I called my son and he sent me some videos and it’s alarming. We’re going to bring the social media companies together and sit down with them and tell them that you have a social and corporate responsibility.

Roomies, what do you think?
