Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shocks Melbourne artists with message

Danielle Weber is an average Melbourne artist who happens to be friends with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The 29-year-old painter met the movie star in 2015 when she was painting a picture of him with his mother, and he recently shocked her with another job request.

He sent her a message on Instagram asking her to paint a portrait of him as his latest superhero character in the titular Black Adam, she told news.com.au on Wednesday.

Destiny makes no mistakes.” Black Adam is so much more than a two-hour film, it’s 15 years of hard work and dedication, breaking down barriers and breaking nos. I resonate deeply with this journey. #BlackAdam was moving, powerful and inspiring. I know how much hard work Dj and his team have put into the film over the past 15 years and throughout the world tour. DJ is always the hardest worker in the room. Tirelessly dedicated. This shows in this film, which will bring a lot of joy to everyone. I have never hesitated to take up this challenge. I painted this in 100 hours over 6 days. Traveled over 50 hours in 5 days to make it to NYC. And I’m so honored to have done so. I know I’ll never be the best artist alive, but I KNOW I’ll always do my best to deliver with passion and dedication… to achieve the best possible result while INSPIRE as many people as possible. With gratitude, love + hard work. Thanks mom for doing the night shifts/no sleep with me. To my team, other half and family for getting me through this and not telling me I was completely insane. Give @walltowallprints a shout because nothing is ever too far fetched! Dyl for being the bomb to put this story together @honah.jill – thanks! @@kiannamagelaki makes me presentable for a night 🖤 THERE ARE LONGER VLOGS SO MAKE SURE YOU SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE ❤️

“I was overwhelmed that he would confide in me about something so big. And yes, I was concerned whether he would like it or not,” she said.

“We talked about me taking a picture of him in January. At that point the movie came out in July but then he hit me again and said the movie had been postponed [to October 12] and that we have time.’

That wasn’t the only surprise he had for her.

Danielle believed she would drop the painting off at Dwayne’s in the US before his appearance on the black carpet at the world premiere of Black Adam.

Plans changed when the WWE wrestler texted her early that morning, urging her to deliver it to him and reveal it on the carpet.

“I have a big idea. I think you’ll present this to me on the black carpet at our world premiere in New York… It’s a powerful moment that we can create together. What do you think…” was his message.

“He told me to get my ass off because he had an idea,” Danielle told news.com.au. “At that point I didn’t have a painting, booked flights or a dress. But I work best under pressure.”

She went on to say that the painting, which should have taken a few months, was finished in just six days and she didn’t finish it until 7 the night before her flight to America.

In a viral clip Danielle posted to her social media, the life-size image was seen covered with a black silk sheet on the black carpet during the Times Square premiere.

“I was overwhelmed that he would confide in me about something so big. And yes, I was concerned whether he would like it or not,

Gathering a crowd, Dwayne said: “I asked Danielle if she would be so kind as to honor us with a special piece. I wanted her to present it to me and our Black Adam team.”

He then asked everyone to count down from three before peeling off the sheet and looking at the piece in amazement.

He could only say an emotional “Amazing” before hugging Danielle with a gracious “Thank you.”
