The Dancing With the Stars family is celebrating a huge achievement for one of their members – inductee DeMarcus Ware was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame over Super Bowl weekend 2023.
Here’s how the Dancing With the Stars family celebrated:
Lindsay Arnold said she was “over the moon” for DeMarcus Ware’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame
On February 9, the NFL announced the nine former players and coaches who make up the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2023 – cornerback/safety Ronde Barber, coach Don Coryell, linebacker Chuck Howley, defensive end/defensive tackle/nose tackle Joe Klecko, cornerback Darrelle Revis, cornerback Ken Riley, offensive tackle Joe Thomas, linebacker Zach Thomas, and lineback/defensive end DeMarcus Ware.
Ware was a contestant on the 27th season of “Dancing With the Stars.” He and his pro partner Lindsay Arnold placed 7th, and Arnold couldn’t be happier to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
“THAT! More than happy for you,” Arnold wrote on her Instagram Stories, where she reposted the announcement post from Ware. “DeMarcus Ware, it’s no secret that he’s an incredibly talented football player, but he’s also one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet! Sincere, kind, a great father and husband. I’m grateful to know you, D!”
The rest of the “Dancing With the Stars” family was also over the moon
In Ware’s Instagram post announcing his anchoring, Ware wrote, “Football immortality in God’s perfect timing. I’ve done enough,” with hands of praise.
In the comments, many other Dancing With the Stars family members left congratulations.
“Congratulations, D Ware, welcome home”, wrote Emmitt Smithwas the Season 3 Champion and is a member of Pro Football HOF himself.
“That’s it. Happy birthday my friend,” wrote the Season 27 champion Radio host Bobby Bones.
Former troop member wrote Hayley Erbert“Wow wonderful! Congratulations.”
Two-time Dancing With the Stars contestant and actor Gilles Marini wrote“Well deserved, congratulations.”
And adds Arnold“This is amazing!!!! Congratulations!!!”
There were also comments from celebrities like Adam Schefter, Deion Sanders, Chris Canty, Snoop Dogg, Reggie Wayne, Robert Mathis, Shawne Merriman, TJ Ward and many others.
After the Super Bowl weekend ceremony, Ware made an Instagram post of himself with his competitors in the Class of 2023 and wrote, “Man WHAT just happened? head is still spinning. It’s an honor to go into the arena with these guys.”
He also posted a video of him acting in high school when he “wasn’t that good” and encouraged athletes to hold on to their dreams.
“Spoiler alert‼️ Number 8 in blue and white wasn’t really good 😳. He has had few catches and tackles this season. He accepted his ONLY scholarship offer (@troytrojansfootball) and worked hard to compensate for the lack of talent. He continued to play in the @nfl, became a SuperBowl champion AND was accepted into ProFootball HOF🧥!! I’m ‘he,'” Ware wrote. “Love and believe in yourself. Happy Super Bowl Sunday. Good luck boys.”
It’s a shame that DWTS only airs once a year now because they can’t get current soccer players anymore due to the show coinciding with soccer season.
Dancing With the Stars returns for its 32nd season on Disney Plus in Fall 2023.
