Dancer Koko Iwasaki has asked another DWTS professional to be one of her bridesmaids

Dancing With the Stars professional dancer Koko Iwasaki is just deep into wedding planning and has started asking her friends to be her bridesmaids, including one of her Dancing With the Stars pros.


Peta Murgatroyd started crying when Koko Iwasaki asked her to be a bridesmaid

On her Instagram Stories, dancer Peta Murgatroyd shared a video of herself opening a box from Iwasaki. Inside were some beautiful candles, a personalized glass, and a personalized invitation that said, “Will you be my bridesmaid?”

In the video, Murgatroyd choked and said: “Don’t make me cry now. Oh my god you’re gonna make me cry! Oh my god I love you so much,” as the two dancers hugged.

Iwasaki became engaged to fiancée and professional dancer Kiki Nyemchek on November 26, 2022. Back then Iwasaki wrote on Instagram“Just ask, just yes.”

In the comments, the Dancing With the Stars family was super excited for her.

“CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Keep crying. I can’t wait for you to experience this next INCREDIBLE chapter of your life!! It’s the absolute BEST!!!” wrote per Jenna Johnson.

Johnson’s husband and fellow pro Val Chmerkovskiy added, “I fugggggggggginnnnnnnnn LOVE YOU BOYS!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Happy birthday to you both.”

Season 31 runner-up Gabby Windey wrote“Omg!!! Happy birthday 😭😭😭. You deserve all the happiness in the world!!! I’m so happy for you both!!!!”

“Just everything. Soulmates for sure.” wrote Murgatroyd.

professional wrote Gleb Savchenko“Love you guys ❤️❤️❤️ Congratulations couldn’t be happier for you both.”

Lindsay Arnold, Cheryl Burke, Brandon Armstrong, Alfonso Ribeiro, Alan Bersten, Amanda Kloots, Jessie James Decker and Daniella Karagach also left congratulations.

According to Instagram, Iwasaki also asked friends Sarah McGinley And Arielle Disciascio as bridesmaids next to Murgatroyd.


Iwasaki & Nyemchek had an epic engagement party in late January

Iwasaki and her friends shared dozens of photos and videos from the big engagement party in New York City in late January. Disciascio put together a montage of the night and wrote a long message to her dear friend.

“I still feel the exhilaration of celebrating love in a room full of friends who are basically family,” Disciascio wrote. “My soul sister, I love you so much, from the lunch club, rehearsals, to sharing stages and talking for hours, I’m honored to be by your side during the most magical time of your life. I am sooo grateful that I can experience the BIGGEST phase of your life. Stay tuned my brother you know what’s going on I love you and love how much you make my sister the happiest girl in the world. You are real.”

Iwasaki answered, “Arielleeeeee. I love you so much! It’s crazy to think about the times we competed against each other, stood backstage and just always supported each other. And now fast forward all these years ALL together!!!! Like everything!!! And I couldn’t be able not to have you by my side. ❤️ I love you for life! soul sisters.”

McGinley posted a video montage to Instagram on the night commented Iwasaki“If I tell you my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing.”

After the party, Iwasaki posted a thank you message to her future brother and sister-in-law Marcus and Michelle Nyemchek for throwing them such a “thoughtful” party.

“Family is everything to me and I’m so excited to win hundreds more 🤣 If you know Kiki you know he has a huge family lol. But seriously, I didn’t really have any family reunions (blood relatives) growing up because it’s just me, my parents and my brother, so it’s all really exciting to me! lol This was such an epic night with the family and I can’t wait forever,” Iwasaki wrote.

She added: “The absolute biggest thank you to my future brother-in-law and sister-in-law for throwing the most beautiful, detailed and thoughtful party for us. I love you both so incredibly much. Thank you for making our night so special, it was everything we could have asked for and more.”

There’s no word yet on when Iwasaki and Nyemchek will tie the knot.

In season 31 of Dancing With the Stars, Iwasaki made her debut as a professional partner dancing with Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino. They came in 7th place. The dance competition show returns for its 32nd season on Disney Plus in fall 2023.
