Dancing With the Stars Season 30 Finalists

“Dancing With the Stars” professional dancer Jenna Johnson is urging fans to stop asking people when they’re going to have kids.

Johnson is married to Val Chmerkovskiy, brother of Maks Chmerkovskiy, whose wife Peta Murgatroyd recently reported having multiple miscarriages and starting IVF.

When asked about Murgatroyd’s situation in an interview with us weekly, Johnson said she was proud of her sister-in-law but wished fans hadn’t made the situation even more difficult for everyone.

Johnson says the situation has brought “heartbreak”.

Johnson told Us Weekly that she had private knowledge of Murgatroyd’s struggles for two years.

“As a family [we’ve] Obviously she knew about it and her struggles with it,” she told the outlet. “She’s kept it very private for the last two years. So when I saw the beautiful piece that they made and that she finally opened up I just called her and told her how proud I am of her because I know how much heartbreak it has brought and how much she cares another baby.”

She said many women have miscarriages, but not all are comfortable talking about it. She shared that she thought it was “admirable” for Murgatroyd to “come out and share these vulnerable things.”

Johnson wants people to stop asking when women are having babies

During the interviewJohnson has spoken openly about the questions and comments she often receives from fans about when a baby is due.

“I think it’s actually a really insensitive question,” she said. “You never know what someone’s going through and how many DMs and comments there are, you know, ‘When are you having a baby?’ That increases the pressure, but it’s nobody’s business either.”

She said people who follow her on social media, or even just “Dancing With the Stars,” don’t know what she’s been through or what she and Val “want to do in the future.”

“They’re rubbing salt in the wound, so we just avoid bringing things like that up to people,” she said. “If I don’t ask you, you probably won’t ask me.”

Johnson & Val have returned from vacation

Johnson and her husband recently returned from vacation and she has shared several photos from their trip, including one of her eating pizza by the pool.

“Pizza delivered in a heart shaped basket in the hot tub?!?!! Yes please and thank you.” Johnson wrote on Instagram.

When it comes to Dancing With the Stars season 31, it sounds like Val and Johnson are both planning their return, at least according to the interview she did with Us Weekly and what Val told Extra.

“We don’t know the details [the show] yet,” he said. “I don’t know if I’ll be back or not, but I’m looking forward to the show.”

Val has previously said he would be retiring after season 30 of Dancing With the Stars, although fans aren’t quick to believe him.

Dancing With the Stars returns to a new home in Fall 2022. The show will now air live exclusively on Disney+ instead of ABC.
