Professional dancers of “Dancing With the Stars” become a fixture on the show as their years of competition progress. With the future of the show’s hosting gig up in the air, several of the former and current professional dancers have said they would be open to the job or join the judging panel.

The upcoming season will be another monumental one for the show if it is renewed. There have been reports about it Tyra Banks can be replaced and that executives are looking for “A-list” stars and “household names” to have a presence in the ballroom.

Cheryl Burke wants to judge Dancing With the Stars

Professional dancer Cheryl Burke opened for Hello! magazine in October 2021 about what she would really like to do during her time on Dancing With the Stars, saying she would love to be a judge on the show or even a judge on the British equivalent Strictly Come Dancing. ”

“I’ve been begging for this job, how many seasons does a girl have to do?” Burke joked with the outlet.

She added a comment on how she would “do it in a jiffy, here or in the UK, love the UK version.”

Sharna Burgess would like to judge

Sharna Burgess and boyfriend Brian Austin Green announced in early 2022 that they were expecting their first child together.

during one Interviewed by Us Weekly, Burgess spoke of hoping to get back on her feet after giving birth to her baby. When asked if she was worried about what she would be like after the birth, she said she was a bit worried because “it’s the unknown” for her.

She said if she doesn’t come back as a professional dancer dancing every week, she would be open to choreographing group numbers or being a judge on the show.

“I would like to be a judge. I rated Australia’s Dancing With the Stars and it was an amazing experience,” she said. “It felt right. It felt right where I wanted to be. I would like to do it here.”

Maks Chmerkovskiy would be open to hosting

Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy spoke to Us Weekly in 2021 about her 2021 tour and Dancing With the Stars, and Maks shared that he’s open to returning in a different role.

“I would love to host,” Maks told Us Weekly. “I would fill all the shoes on this show. I wish I had that understanding when I first came to the show, we had a different process because I honestly didn’t have any examples of that in front of me to say, ‘Oh, that’s how it is.’ ”

He added, “Personally, I would love the opportunity to follow in any footsteps on the production side or in front of the camera. I don’t necessarily have the passion to guide anyone through this incredibly grueling three-month process to the end. I may not have, but I have a passion to contribute to dance, to be on TV and to stay with it.”

Dancing With the Stars has not yet been renewed for season 31. If renewed, the show will return sometime in mid-September 2022.
